Who is showing in Chelsea right now?
My History of Composition class took a field trip to Chelsea yesterday, and I could not resist taking some photos for this blog. On view at Ethan Cohen New York is a show titled CHOCO·PIE PROPAGANDA, by Korean-American Polipop (Political Pop artist) Mina Cheon. Her artwork is intriguing and everyone leaves with a delicious Choco Pie! PPOW Gallery is showing work by Robin F. Williams, a group of bright and large paintings of men. Figurative and still life paintings by William Bailey are on view now at Betty Cunningham Gallery, my personal favorite of the tour. Finally at Andrea Rosen Gallery there is a highly illusionist installation by David Altmejd, sure to take you on a roller coaster of sensations. Go and have fun!

Italian Master Drawings from the Princeton University Art Museum
On view now until May 11th at Princeton University Art Museum is a wonderful show of Italian Master drawings mostly from the Renaissance. The show includes artists such as Luca Cambiaso, Guercino, Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Parmigianino, but also more modern artists such as Modigliani. You will find three rooms full of small to extra large drawings and etchings and even a few paintings. It is an impressive collection that is sure to make you want to go back. I know I will!
